March 2019. I am coming to the end of my maternity leave with my daughter and trying to get the website up and running ready for when the stock will be available for sale.
It has been a learning curve sourcing fabric suppliers that are not only fun and stylish, but also meet our required standard of being Oeko-tex standard 100 certified. It Is so important that what we put against the delicate skin of our beautiful babies is safe and free of harsh chemicals and dyes. We are proud at BibbilyBoo to say we meet these standards whilst also looking awesome!
I am well aware that as amazing as my time off with my daughter has been and how productive I have been in setting up a business, I cannot meet the demand of making all of the bibs myself when going back to work and that I will need to find support in sewing or consider larger scale manufacture, which is quite an exciting prospect!
I have always been keen on sourcing from the U.K. where possible and after a chance discussion with my nephews girlfriend, a fashion and design student, we identified a group of individuals looking for self employed sewing jobs on a short term basis! This was perfect for me and their skills and knowledge were perfect for the job and for the ad hoc production basis as the business grows.
So I committed to a huge fabric order and have booked in the team to start work on production at the end of March 2019!
I am literally so excited to see piles of BibbilyBoo bibs ready for posting out to your babies to dribble all over! It is crazy to think that only 6 months ago I hated dribble and now it is the cause of excitement for me!! Who would have thought it?!
